Welcome to my New Blog! And a Finish!

I want to thank all the readers and followers of my 'old' blog, Crafts and Stuff.  You have been so positive and encouraging, so inspirational and kind with your comments.  I have so enjoyed the world of blogging and quilting, knitting and creating for the past 5+ years, since December of 2005 to be exact.  Can you believe it's that long?  I made friends in every corner of the world and that meant a lot to me.

Having said all that I am sure you can imagine my anger and frustration when I discovered that I could no longer log in to my blog. Everything was fine until last Thursday.  Since then I have not been able to post anything new or change anything that is already there.  I can see all my posts, but that's about all.  It was as if I am seeing my blog the way you, my wonderful blog readers, see it.  I am no longer in control.

What happened?  It seems that my blog was cyberjacked.  Someone hacked into my account and stole my password.  I received an email from blogger.bounces.google.com telling me that my blog now belongs to howto-live@hotmail.fr and can be accessed through for1blogger@hotmail.fr.  I did not get anywhere when I tried this since it is now a private blog.  All of this just frustrates me more.   So, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

My original reason for starting a blog was to have a record of my crafts.  I wanted a place where I could post my treasures and somehow organize the things I had made.  Now all of that seems wasted and ridiculous.  I feel violated.  The way anyone would feel if they had something of value stolen from them.  I am depressed over all of this as I am sure you can imagine how I feel.  But I can't let this stop me!  Decades of psychotherapy cannot be wasted.  After a couple of days of mourning, I am able to go on - with this new blog.

So here is a finished - yes! finished! - wall hanging.  I started this at least 4 or 5 years ago, maybe more.  It measures 16 1/2in. by 33in. (42cm x84cm) and is heavily quilted. I sewed buttons in the centre of the flowers.  It reminds me of spring.  And what is spring? The start of new life.  And I am celebrating with the start of a new blog.

I will be sending an email out to my blogging friends so that they will know of my new address.  If you know of anyone who would be interested in reading my blog, please pass this link onto them.  I would also not be upset if my blogging friends would post my new link on their blogs.  Thanking you in advance.

I think a give away is in order.  But more of that in a few days.  I have to think of something special.
Thanks again for being there!

I just think that really stinks that someone could do that. what do they want with your blog? It is not right and there should be something done about it.....

Why do people try to take away the fun of others??? I am so sorry to read this all, Hetty!
Happy you started a new one, so we can still see all your beautiful work!
Enjoy the spring and the great work you do! xo

I read about your blog highjacking on Barb's blog. I'm so sorry to hear about what's happened. On a happy note though, now I've discovered your blog and I adore that wall hanging! I've wanted to do a yellow and blue quilt or something for a long time but haven't found quite the fabrics I want. Your's turned out fabulous!

I know just how you feel I had my e-mail hijacked about a year ago. They sent everyone on my e-mail a letter saying I was stuck overseas and needed money. Short version but fortunately nobody fell for it but I lost everything. It felt terrible and like I had been violated but I guess that is a risk we take when we put ourselves out there. I haven't followed your blog but I saw about it on Barb's so I just want to let you know that I understand how you feel. Blessings Sandra

I'm sorry you are having to endure being blog-jacked. People need to get a life. I'm so glad Barb let us as I would have thought you just stopped blogging. Can't wait to see more pretties from you.

How terrible!! I've only had my blog since January, and I would be devastated if I lost it that way. :(

Your wall hanging is adorable, though. :D

I am so sorry. Why people do what they do is sometimes beyond my understanding.

Your new blog is lovely. I am glad I "discovered" you thru Barb's post.

Honestly, what is wrong with people! And what is happening to Blogger. I've been having trouble all week. Did what they are doing make it easier for someone to steal your stuff? Gads.

Oh wow...I can only imagine your frustration. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know nothing about how to get your blog back....but if I ever meet anyone with that e-mail address....I'll be sure to shoot them in the knee caps for you!

Smiles,

Your tablerunner is adorable. I know it must be nice to finish a long term UFO.

Any idea how the blogjacking happened? Tips for us of things we can do to prevent it?

I just read about your troubles. I checked out your old blog and it seems a shame to lose it. Since it was sponsored by blogspot which is owned by google, have you tried contacting google about it? Seems to me that they would be able to fix it. Good Luck!! ttfn :) Yuki

I read about your blog hijacking on Barb's blog. I didn't know such a thing could happen, and I also think Blogger should be more responsible. You shouldn't have to go through such aggravation.
On a nicer note, I love Mimi! I have a cat, too, and love how she gets herself involved in my life. Compliments on your beautiful wall hanging.

OMG Hetty what is this world coming to. What does someone in France want with your blog. These kinds of people really need to get a life. I have posted about your blog and where to find you on my blog and have also changed the link that I had on my blog. All the best Hetty and I love you spring wall hanging.

I'm new to your blog but am so sorry for the horrible situation of losing your previous blog. I can only imagine what you must be going through. Obviously blogger was no help in getting the situation remedied?
Your table runner is gorgeous!! I am a new follower and look forward to many more posts.

Oh my dear, that’s awful. Did you ever make a back-up of your blog?
Why can’t blogger prevent this kind of violation?

Well, on a happier note, I’m glad you started a new blog! Love your table runner!

I have moved your address on my blog list Hetty - So sorry to hear about your blog hi jacking- I wouldn't even thought it was possible. I am glad you were able to find a way to post and continue blogging.
I do read your blog regularly - not always time to comment.
I hope you have a lovely Mother's Day. Regards,

Hetty -
I am really sorry to hear what happened. You should try to get back your account!!!!!

Here is a link to contact google
to regain access to your account. Even if you don't use that one again, you don't want to lose your control over your stuff.

Good luck.

I'm very sorry to hear of this. all I can suggesti s to contact blogger, ask them to review IP addresses to show you are the actual account owner and to allow you to "reset" the password and your email. Before you do this, run virus scans on all accounts, update all spyware and run them and then change all other passwords.

I just come from Barbs blog and I am so sorry to hear that your lovely blog you had was stolen from you. I went back to your old blog and look at your profile and have you done that too? Look at all the blogs that awful creeten has?? My god!! Google or Blogger should be able to something for you and why would a creten like the thief be the original owner of your blog? I hope you get it sorted. Hugs Vicki

That is sort of sickening to read about. I am so sorry for you. But, perhaps this will be the beginning of even better things. If that table runner is any indication, we can expect great things from you in the future despite this setback.

There are now lower scum in the blog world that are thieves that steal blogs. Why not just start your own. I'm signed on to follow and will wipe out your old blog. Hang in there lady.

Hetty that is a really low act. Surely blogger and google can do something! I'm going to send them a complaint so they will protect the rest of us from having similar hacks. The scum has obviously stolen other blogs too by the look of it.
On another note, your table runner looks fantastic. I'm sure it brought some sunshine to you.

Sorry to hear about your blog. It makes you wonder why people do such stuff. I am going to follow your new blog. I love your quilt.

I. too, just came from Barb's and I am outraged that this happened to you. I would be harrassing blogger on a daily basis in an attempt to have this corrected. Seems to me that they should have more control.
